Yes, it is. It is not located phisically like stock exchange markets.

Forex means foreign currency exchange. You can buy dollar for Rupees, Pounds for dollars and so on.

For example if you buy dollars today @ 47.60. Think if you have bought 2000 dollars. i.e you have bought 2000 $ for Rs.95200.
If dollar rises to 47.80. Now you can sell it for profit and if the rate decreases you can sell it for loss. It is up to you.

Keep in mind: Brokerage amount has to be paid. In the above example you get Rs.400 without brokerage. It is only an example and nothing else
